Ahead of 2019 hajj, the Kaduna state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is set to commence enlightenment and education for its registered intending pilgrims for this year’s pilgrimage in all its centres across the state.

The Overseer of the Board, Imam Hussaini Sulaiman Tsoho, said in a statement: “The enlightenment is aimed at teaching the intending pilgrims basic principles of Islam, pilgrimage rites and other principles of hajj operations as well as rules and regulations governing pilgrims’ stay in Saudi Arabia.”

He said the enlightenment would be conducted every Saturday and Sundays and is compulsory for all the registered intending pilgrims.

Meanwhile, the Board has so far registered more than 1,500 intending pilgrims for 2019 hajj as the registration progresses.

A total of 6,636 hajj seats have been allocated to the state by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Abuja.
